John Barr - All I Am
The CD took over 3 years to record - John says the process this time was 'so personal' - the track listing changed a lot - so he recorded more songs than were needed.
He says this is his most personal collection of songs to date; He even co-wrote a song with his friend David McAlmont about his Dad. Catherine Porter and Kevin Malpass wrote the Epic Ballad and title track 'All I Am', and he has taken a fresh look at Jason Carr's 'Somethin' Good' which he recorded over 7 years ago on Jason's Debut CD - Listen Up.
The 16 Songs are arranged and played by Jason Carr, Simon Deacon, Andrew Lynwood, Kevin Malpass, Natasha Panas and Missak Takoushian and feature four wonderful guest singers - Alison Jiear, Jenna Russell, David McAlmont and Rebecca Vere.

He proves himself to be that rare thing: a British theatrical performer who understands that you could express yourself through a song, not a character, and distil something of your own character in the process. This latest CD collection reveals him in yet another new light, with a maturity in both voice and depth of feeling that testifies to a life that has been lived in all the contradictions of pain and joy that it can bring. And it’s also a wonderful testament to friendship too: he is joined by the stunning likes of Alison Jiear, David McAlmont, Jenna Russell and Rebecca Vere on several tracks; and he also has a personal connection to many of the composers whose work is featured here, as well.

'As Long As You're Mine' is one of my personal favorite tunes from Wicked, and John and Jenna Russell give it just the right blend of darkness and passion. Maybe it`s because I know, but I think you can tell from listening to it how close they are.

Thank you for your beautiful reading of 'I Gaze in Your Eyes.' I think Cole would have been proud. I know I am.

'John's performance of ‘Remember’ is heartfelt and dramatic.
